Memorial Day Must Have Beauty Products

Memorial Day, the unofficial kick-off to the summer season, is just a few days away. I absolutely love the summer. For me, it means a more relaxed schedule (primarily since my daughter is out of school and off at sleep away camp for a month!), dining alfresco, a trip to Spain and hanging out on our deck with friends. All of the additional time outside (hence more UV exposure) means you need to adjust the products you use to protect your skin and hair. Below are a few of my favorites and new ones that I’ll be trying out this summer.

1. COOLA Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops ($46) – For those that spend more time Netflix & chilling than sand & sunning, this new product helps protect you from the visible signs of aging due to not only the sun and environmental toxins, but also digital overexposure. Yes, those hours in front of the laptop, iPhone and tablet are impacting your skin. Here’s some help.

2. Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm ($18) – Loaded with antioxidants, avocado and fruit oils, this balm leaves lips soft, smooth and hydrated. It also is made with oil from the mongongo nut which provides sun protection.

3. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer ($30) – Create your own sun-kissed look and skip the UV damage. This new bronzer not only gives good glow, but also practically airbrushes away the look of pores.

4. jane iredale HandDrink Hand Cream ($29) – HandDrink has been re-imagined in a lemongrass scent. Not only does it hydrate without a touch of greasiness and have SPF15 broad spectrum sunscreen, it’s made with botanicals that help brighten and even skin tone.

Plus, it has with the brand’s CELL-OX SHIELD technology which is provides skin with not only UVA/UVB protection, but antioxidants.

6. Leonor Greyl Huile de Leonor Greyl Shampoo Treatment ($59) – This magical oil is a hair savior. Simply put some in your hair before swimming or sunning. After showering, your hair will feel as if you’ve spent the day in the salon not exposing it to moisture-depleting sun, sand and chlorine.
