My HairStory: Nutrafol Supplements

My thinning hairline has been a concern for the past several years.  In fact, more aggressive treatments for my hairline are higher on my list of anti-aging priorities than treatment for wrinkles and fine lines. As you may have seen here, a little over a year ago I had microblading done on my hairline. It definitely made a difference, but was a temporary fix. At this point, 90% of the pigment from the treatment is gone.

2015 – before I started taking steps to improve my thinning hairline.

Earlier in the year, I considered doing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments, which involves drawing a patient’s own blood, processing it so that only the platelet-rich plasma cells remain and then injecting the PRP cells into the area to be treated. With this procedure, growth factors are injected into the scalp to restore youthful hair growth and density. I have also dabbled in more low-tech solutions like castor oil and have considered trying Vicks’ Vapor Rub (yes, it is an actual thing).

Hairline Rescue, microblading

2016 – My thinning hairline before the microblading treatment.

Before moving forward with my PRP appointment, I decided to try Nutrafol supplements. I wholeheartedly believe in health and beauty from the inside out and have tried biotin and other hair and nail health supplements – with limited success. Nutrafol has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich ingredients that address the multiple causes of hair thinning and loss including inflammation, stress hormones, free radicals stress. I have now been using Nutrafol supplements for just over 2 months and I am so pleased with the results.

Results after using Nutrafol for 2 months. So excited to see new growth, especially in the area closest to the middle of my forehead.

My hair is much healthier and stronger. It has also been growing much more quickly. In fact, I recently had about 5 inches chopped off since it was growing so rapidly. Most amazingly, there are areas of my hairline that are seeing growth for the first time in 20+ years. I thought these areas would forever be without regrowth due to my past use of relaxers on my hair, stress due to pulling my hair back, constant use of heat tools, etc. The regrowth along my hairline has been so dramatic that I have decided to delay my planned PRP appointment. If I continue to see results like I have seen over the past two months, I have a feeling that there will be no need for any type of hair growth treatments.

Stay tuned for my results over the next few months!
