Beauty Gives Back: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women*.  A new diagnosis is made in the US every 2 minutes. In honor of all the women who have and will continue to battle this disease – shop for items that contribute to finding a cure, do self-exams regularly and get a mammogram (as recommended by your physician). During October, many brands will contribute a portion of sales to organizations building awareness about breast cancer and funding research to find a cure. Below are some of our favorite BCA beauty products.

1) AVON BREAST CANCER CRUSADE SWEET CHERRY BLOSSOM CANDLE ($10) – For every candle purchased $2.00 will be donated to the Avon Foundation for Women to support Avon Breast Cancer Crusade programs across the U.S.

2) BABY FOOT ($25) – 20% of proceeds from their limited edition pink box will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

3) BOBBI BROWN ART STICK DUO ($50) – For every set purchased, $10 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

4) C.O. BIGELOW APOTHECARIES FREESIA CANDLE ($42) – C.O. Bigelow donates 10% of all sales (all year!) of their Freesia Candle to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a leading organization that fights breast cancer by advancing promising research around the world.

5) ELEMIS THE HERO COLLECTION FOR BREAST CANCER CARE AWARENESS ($88) – Elemis is donating over $13,000 to Breast Cancer Care, a charity providing care, information and support to people affected by breast cancer.

6) eos BERRY BLOSSOM LOTION –  With each purchase, eos will donate 100% of net profits to breast cancer research. In addition to proceeds going towards Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center through the purchase of the lotion, the brand is going to match contributions made directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering using this link.

7) jane iredale LEMONGRASS LOVE HYDRATION SPRAY ($30) – For the 9th year in a row jane iredale has partnered with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, an organization that provides programs and services to help people whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. 100% of the profits from sales of the hydration spray will go to LBBC.
