Travel Beauty Essentials

In just under a week, I will be headed back to one of my beloved Palma de Mallorca, Spain. To say that I am excited it a complete understatement. Sun, the Mediterranean Sea, tapas, amazing helados (ice cream) and access to tons of European beauty products – what is there not to love. This year, we will be following up our trip to Palma, with a week in Florence, Italy. My list of gelato shops, as well as designer stores to take advantage of the summer sale season, borders on ridiculous.

One thing is different this year, my husband has finally taken me over the “dark side”. In this case that means that he has converted this perpetual overpacker into a carry-on only chica. Yes, just a Tumi Vapor Lite carry-on for three weeks in Europe. Naturally, this requires a pretty well-edited set of beauty products.  These are the ones that made the cut. Yes, I know there is no sunscreen shown – that’s a staple!

AMIKA SILKEN UP DRY CONDITIONER ($24) – When I’m on vacation, I tend to go a little longer between shampooing. There’s no need for a fresh blowout every day where I’m going, plus why take even one unnecessary moment away from the fun. With a good shampoo and this dry conditioner, no one will guess that my hair hasn’t seen the underside of a showerhead in a few days.

GLOSSIER HALOSCOPE ($22) – I tend to wear minimal makeup while on vacation, save for a special evening out. That doesn’t mean that I want to look like I have no makeup on. This highlighter provides just the right amount of sheen. The best version of natural-looking you.

MARIO BADESCU BOTANICAL EXFOLIATING SCRUB ($26) – Just because you’re on vacation there is no excuse to slack on exfoliating. This gentle scrub removes dead skin cells, moisturizes and leaves skin glowing. Just as it should be when on vacation.

MURAD BALANCING MOISTURIZER ($40) – For me, oil control is a must during the warm weather. This uber lightweight moisturizer hydrates, provides broad spectrum sun protection and oil control.

MURAD INVISIBLUR PERFECTING SHIELD ($65) – This triple threat acts as an SPF, primer and anti-aging treatment. Be protected and look perfect with minimal coverage.

TEMPTU AIR AIRBRUSH 24-HOUR ROOT TOUCH-UP & HAIR COLOR ($35) – I never travel without my TemptuAir and airpod foundation. For this trip, I’m also making sure to bring along my root touch-up pod. I have no time to get to the salon to dye a few errant grays and with the 24-hour root touch-up airpod, it’s no problem.
