Ageist Beauty Quick Pick: Maple Holistics Shampoo & Conditioner

With the cold weather months up on us (albeit, with a touch of unseasonable warmth here in the mid-Atlantic states), it is abundantly clear to me that I have dry hair and it is craving more moisture. The combination of cool, occasionally wind-whipped, weather and forced air indoor heating have made my color-treated hair feel even more dry and hay-like.

My latest hair care obsession is Maple Holistics Argan Special Formula Shampoo ($13) and Silk 18 Natural Hair Conditioner for Women & Men ($30). The shampoo is made primarily with argan oil (increases shine) and combines it with almond oil (moisturizes and soothes the scalp); botanical keratin (combats frizz and makes hair more manageable); peach kernel (moisturizing, soothing, encourages hair growth); avocado (enhances shine and strengthens), as well as other natural botanicals. The conditioner combines silk amino acids (strengthens hair) with shea butter (moisturizing), aloe vera, green tea (promotes growth), sea buckthorn (antioxidant, promotes scalp and hair health), hibiscus (combats dryness and damage); argan; jojoba; and other natural ingredients to deliver a lightweight, but highly effective, conditioner.

After use, my hair always looks and feels shiny, soft, hydrated and healthy. This dynamic duo firmly puts to rest any conflict over effectiveness versus natural ingredients. It easily delivers both.
