It has now been 3.5 weeks since I had my first Bellafill® treatment. I did experience a bit of soreness (very mild) afterwards. It was primarily in the area between the corners of my mouth and my chin, as well as inside of my mouth where Dr. Wise massaged to ensure that the Bellafill® was dispersed evenly. Interestingly, the soreness didn’t present itself until a couple of days after the treatment. It lasted for perhaps three days and then I felt 100%. It never prevented me from doing my regularly scheduled activities. In fact, it was really just soreness to the touch. Solution? I stopped touching my face.
I had no bruising. I did have minimal swelling for the first day or two, but it resolved quickly and was probably imperceptible to anyone but me. True to Dr. Wise’s prediction, I now look like I didn’t have any filler injected. This is the part of the process where the the PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) microspheres in Bellafill® are creating a framework to support my body’s natural collagen production.
I have my next appointment with Dr. Wise during the first week of December. I’m looking forward to seeing how my nasolabial folds look after the second treatment and in the ensuing months.
