Do You Spa? Why Yes, I Do!

As I have gotten older, I have definitely embraced a “why wait for the weekend?” mentality in all that I do. Why not go out for a date night on a weekday night? Why not have a glass of wine on a Tuesday night? I’ve decided to stop enjoying my life in the margins. Focusing on enjoying my life all of the time, not just during the weekends, at special events and bi-annual vacations, has become a high priority. Working to live, as opposed to living to work makes me a better wife, mother, daughter, friend and, oddly enough, a better employee.

Spa days used to be one of those every once in awhile indulgences. Massages were typically reserved for my birthday (a family holiday, in my opinion) or when I felt so stressed that I was headed for a complete melt down. During Spa Week, I am reminded of the health benefits (physical and mental) of spa treatments and why they should be incorporated into my regular wellness routine. Spa Week is the bi-annual (April and October) event when thousands of spas across the country offer select full-service spa treatments for only $50. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy multiple spa treatments (virtually) guilt-free. It’s also a good chance to try something new.  Hey, if you feel compelled to giggle like a 6 year-old through your first reflexology treatment, it’s not quite so bad if it only cost $50. To date, my spa week line-up includes the following:

  • Skin Laundry Signature Laser and Light Treatment
  • The Woodhouse Day Spa – Lavender Dreams 45 minute Massage
  • Red Door Spa – Spa Week Pedicure with Choice of Gel Polish or Paraffin Hand Treatment

Make your appointments now, popular spas and treatments tend to fill up very quickly. You’re more than worth it!
