Beauty on Trial: Tria Age Defying Laser Final Review

After 12 weeks of using the Tria Age Defying Laser, I have come to the end of my trial. I can honestly say that it was one of the few skincare treatments that I actually looked forward to doing each evening due to the fact that I saw immediate (within 2 weeks) and enduring results over the course of the trial.

Once I adjusted to the heat/prickling sensation of the laser during the first couple of weeks, I experienced no discomfort. In fact, once I got used to the sensation it was reassuring to feel it and have a physical indicator that something was in fact “happening” to my skin. The only “side effect” that I noticed throughout was that my skin was drier than usual. The Tria Finishing Serum effectively soothes and hydrates the skin immediately following the treatment, but I also added a thicker moisturizer to my routine because I found that using a thicker moisturizing cream overnight helped minimize the dryness that I was experiencing.

Results after having used the Tria Age Defying Laser for 12 weeks.

In the last few weeks, I did notice that I started to experience some hyperpigmentation on my forehead, by the sides of my mouth and on the sides of my face by my ears. However, I can’t solely attribute this to the use of the laser. I have also had increased sun exposure over the past couple of weeks due to the arrival of summer-like weather (finally!). Nonetheless, once I finished my last treatment cycle and was fastidious with my exfoliation, moisturizing and sunscreen, the darkening went away quickly.

My "Before" photo!

My “Before” photo!

I have noticed that overall my face has a more firm, youthful appearance and my smile lines and nasolabial folds are less visible.

The scar after 12 weeks of treatments. It is much more smooth.

Although, the Age-Defying Laser is not specifically indicated to lessen the appearance of scars, I have had a dramatic improvement in the scar that is over my right eyebrow. It is much smoother and the coloring of it has lightened to the point of being almost imperceptible. Last week, I had a follow-up visit with my cosmetic surgeon and he even commented on how great the scar was looking and congratulated me for “whatever I’m doing to it”.

I definitely saw significant improvement in the firmness of my skin during the trial and see the Age-Defying Laser as a viable alternative to pricey in-office laser treatments. In fact, I see a second treatment cycle in my future in the fall.

Disclaimer: I received a product sample as part of the Tria Age-Defying Laser Ambassador Program. However, these are my true thoughts and opinions. Ageist Beauty was not paid for this review.
