Ageist Beauty’s Best of 2012: Overall Best in Beauty

We try many products throughout year, those listed below are our favorites we tried during 2012. These are the products that we have continued to use long after any trial period has ended, the ones that we buy for our own besties, and we rush to replenish when it looks like we are running low.

Best of 2012

BareMinerals Ready Luminizer ($20) – Highlights and makes skin glow, but it also leaves skin healthier thanks to bareMinerals’ proprietary skin-nourishing SeaNutritive Mineral™ Complex.

Dr. Brandt Blemishes No More® Daily Exfoliating Cleanser ($25) – The exfoliating beads in this daily cleansing gel are gentle enough for every day use, but effective enough to remove all traces of oil and dirt, leaving behind soft, clean skin. Plus, it smells amazing.

Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Discovery Set ($325) - This just may be the proverbial fountain of youth. I have seen a dramatic improvement in the texture and appearance of my skin since starting to use this miracle two-some 2 months ago. Stay tuned for a full review.

GoodSkin Labs Exten-10 Instant Youth Boosting Moisturizer SPF 15 ($45) - I love the fact that even though this moisturizer is lightweight it is very hydrating, eliminating the need for a heavier evening moisturizer. For the first time, I haven’t needed to change my moisturizer to combat the dry winter air.

Living Proof Prime Style Extender ($20) – I put this product to the test during Super Storm Sandy. My hair remained fresh and neat even after not being washed for 4+ days.

Molton Brown Pink Paradisiac Pepperpod Body Exfoliant ($48) – This ladies’ version of the Molton Brown Black Pepper scent is the perfect reason to linger a bit longer in the shower. It gently exfoliates skin and leaves behind soft, hydrated skin.

NEST Wasabi Pear Body Wash ($28) – NEST Fragrances’ sophisticated scents were translated into body products this year. The Wasabi Pear body wash is the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Your skin is left refreshed without a trace of dryness.

Viviscal Extra Strength Hair Nutrient Tablets ($50) – Although hair growth averages .5 inches per month, I experienced growth of 1.5 inches per month while using Viviscal Extra Strength. I also saw faster re-growth in a couple of sparse patches.

Winks by Georgie Faux Lashes ($28) - These are my favorite faux lashes, by far. The super thin and flexible strip makes them easy to apply. Additionally, the adhesive is free of formaldehyde and parabens.
