Ageist Beauty’s Best of 2012: Drugstore Edition

As you might imagine, we have many, many different beauty products sent to us throughout the year and buy even more. For every one or two products that we tell you we love, there are many more that are just “meh” or miss the mark all together. Well, enough about the “also rans”, here are our absolute favorite drugstore beauty products from 2012. As luck would have it, this is a great time of year to stock up on some of these items with retailers such as CVS and Walgreen’s offering discounts. Drugstore.com is also offering 20% off of everything through December 29 at 11:59 pm PT.

2012 bEST OF dRUGSTORES

Garnier Skin Renew Clinical Dark Spot Overnight Peel ($17) – Used overnight this peel help to renew skin – minimizing dark spots, making skin look smoother and brighter. I also noticed after using the product for a few weeks that the pores on my nose were much less visible. Something that I have yet experience with any other product I’ve used to date.

Olay Total Effects Tone Correcting UV Moisturizer ($20) – As we said in a previous post, this is our favorite non-BB cream, BB cream. This multi-tasking, age combatting, tone-correcting wonder product rocked our collective worlds this year.

Shea Moisture Baby Eczema Bar Soap ($4) – Despite its moniker, this soap is not just for babies. I’ve used it on my now 7 year-old’s eczema-prone skin, as well as my own winter-weary skin. The argan oil and raw shea butter in this soap ensure that it is super moisturizing, but the incredible smell is what continues to draw me to this super soap.

TRESemme Split Remedy Leave-In Split End Treatment ($5) – Instantly repair up to 80% of split-ends with this leave-in treatment. We also love it smooths and softens hair without making it heavy and weighed dow.

John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Colour ($12) – Unfortunately, I have to color my hair more and more frequently now as errant grays pop-up what seems like daily. John Frieda’s Precision Foam Hair Colour is the easiest to use and most precise hair color I’ve tried yet.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss ($5) - We a great multi-tasking product! This nail polish has a built in top coat (saving you time and money!). Plus, it lasts for up to a week without chips.
