Without proper pre-makeup prep, I can go through multiple Boscia Blotting Linens during the day to contain the plethora of oil in my t-zone. As a confirmed oily girl, I’m alwys looking for weapons to add to my arsenal of oil-fighting products. My new favorite is OC8 Professional Mattifying Gel, a lightweight gel-based based cream that keeps oil at bay for up to eight hours.
I have put this product to the test over the past couple of weeks. I applied it before going on a recent business trip and my makeup managed to stay fresh through 12-hours of travel from New York City to Dallas (a trip that should have taken 7-8 hours total), including a delayed connecting flight and late-night construction traffic on the highway. Even though, I likely lost a few additional hairs (from pulling them out in frustration) and my nerves were frayed, my makeup looked as though it was freshly applied. It has also passed the test during full days of meetings in stuffy conference rooms and even an afternoon in the sun at a football game.
After cleansing and drying your skin, apply your regular skincare products (serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, etc.). Next, apply a thin layer of OC8 in a circular motion. I tend to let the product set for a few minutes before applying oil-free foundation or BB cream. As a final step, I set my makeup with a light dusting of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder. The result is long-lasting, oil-free fresh makeup that can take you from day to evening.
