As part of the Lucky Shops VIP Blogger Committee I had the opportunity to visit the Yumi Kim store on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to select an outfit for the Lucky Shops VIP Charity Shopping Party taking place on November 2. I admittedly wasn’t familiar with Yumi Kim before this opportunity and was so excited to see on what I have been missing out. Named for designer, Kim Phan and her dog, Yumi, Yumi Kim designs are known for feminine, flirty, floral prints, silky fabric and bold colors.
The boutique reminded me of a very stylish girlfriend’s well-decorated apartment, complete with a plush sofa perfect for waiting husbands and children. In addition to the racks of Yumi Kim designs, the boutique offers some accessories, VoluSpa candles and a well-edited selection of shoes, including the Kelsi Dagger heels that I have on (and am now coveting!)
I first tried on the Goddess Dress in a gorgeous cobalt blue color. I immediately thought “This is it!”. The gorgeous color, combined with beautiful silk fabric and the fact that I could wear this dress from day-to-night, had me from the time I slipped it over my head.
Another favorite is the Leigh Dress in a versatile blue yellow and off-white colorblocked pattern. Although, I wasn’t sure it was what I needed for the Lucky Shops event, I quickly added it to my mental wishlist! After close to an hour of trying on gorgeous dresses, skirts and blouses (plus, a lot of patience from my lovely stylists for the day), I left the store with my Lucky Shops VIP outfit. You’re probably wondering what Yumi Kim outfit I chose. Well, stay tuned for my Lucky Shops post to see which outfit I chose and many more photos of the event!
As an unexpected bonus, I found an absolutely adorable French macaron store very close to the Yumi Kim boutique. Even though I had just been lamenting that I still needed to lose a few post-Palma, Spain pounds (yeah, yeah I know it’s been 3 months since Spain and I really can’t use that as an excuse anymore), I can’t resist a good macaron. The macarons at Bisous Ciao are fantastic! I ordered a raspberry, lemon, caramel apple, and the seasonal pumpkin flavor and each was superb.
