Sally Hansen Gel Nail Kits Coming to a Retailer Near You

From polish stickers and neon bright colors to magnetic polish and true-to-skintone nudes, nail polish is a quick, easy and inexpensive way to update your look. It is now seen not just as a cosmetic item but as a way to accessorize your outfit. Given the economy, I see cosmetic companies continuing to find ways to innovate their nail polish products to differentiate them from the competition and also maintain the consumer’s insatiable appetite for new colors and formulations.

Just as Sally Hansen made polish strips simple, accessible and attractive to the masses, they are set to do the same with gel nail polish. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Sally Hansen will be launching an at-home gel nail kit, as well as a gel product that somehow incorporates the polish strip idea. I have had a few gel polish services and love them in particular for vacations or special events (when I don’t want to have to worry about a chipped nail). My most recent CND Shellac lasted for three weeks! I tend to not get gel too often since it can be difficult to remove. Also, I love changing my nail color frequently. However, if I have the convenience of doing my own gel nail color (and if it is easier to remove!) I could be convinced to use it regularly since there is no drying downtime (and risk or smudges) and it looks like new for at least 10-14 days.

What do you think about gel nail polish? Would you be willing to try an at-home gel nail kit?
