Chanel Perfection Lumiere Makeup is Fantastique, Formidable et Plus

I have long been aware of Chanel’s cosmetics. However, I had yet to realize the magnifique-ness of them until my recent visit to the Chanel counter at Saks during Saks Beauty Editor Day. During my makeover, the makeup artist used Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup on me. However, the color was a bit too dark for my skin tone. So, I marched back to Saks and got the correct shade – 64 Biege Ambre. Mon dieu! It is amazing. The makeup is very thin and light which enables it to go on very smoothly giving light to medium coverage. It is buildable if you wish to have heavier coverage. It managed to cover my (still lingering) post-Palma dark spots, but not make me look like I am hiding behind a mask of makeup. Fortunately, you only need a little bit to fully cover your face. This is a very good thing, because at $55 a pop – it is definitely not an inexpensive product. When applied lightly, the makeup still looks natural and smooth. Combined with the Correcteur Perfection concealer, I was able to completely cover any remaining evidence of my travel-induced episode of acne. My skin looked flawless all day. The makeup even manages to keep my prolific oil-producing pores at bay without needing to apply loose powder (fantastic news for this oily girl).

I’m still a fan of less is more when it comes to makeup. So, I would still opt for a BB cream on a daily basis (if I have no dreaded dark spots to camouflage). However, for a night out or a special event Chanel Perfection Lumiere is my top choice.
