Is Target the next Sephora?

Looks like I (and my fellow Target-lovers) may have yet another reason to love Target stores, beyond the amazing fashion collaborations and one-stop shopping. This weekend, Target launched a pilot of their Target Beauty Concierge program. The pilot is taking place in 28 stores in the Chicago metropolitan area and if successful, will be rolled out to 400-450 Target stores nationally.

Beauty Advisors will staff small kiosks in the stores’ beauty department and be knowledgeable on key products from across the beauty brands carried at Target stores. Their duties will include giving advice on skincare and makeup choices and doling out samples. So, will you be skipping your trip to Sephora for a prolonged stroll through Target’s beauty department?

If any Chicago-area readers have photos of these new in-store beauty boutiques, please share. We would love to see what Target has in-store for us fellow beauty (and Target-lovers)!
