I tend to think that you can take almost any beauty trend and interpret it for your age, skintone, lifestyle, etc. I love the bright color trend, am rocking some gold eyeshadow as we speak and have been known to be a proponent of a great red lippie. However, I’m not sure I can get behind the Spring dark plum/berry lip trend.
Seen during some of the Fall 2012 runway shows during New York Fashion Week and more recently on some of the starlets at the Met Gala, the dark lip (circa the ’90s) is making a comeback. I think having such a dark lip on anyone other than a teen or young twenty-something looks dated, too heavy, goth or all of the above. Changing the boldness of the lipstick defeats the intention of the trend itself.
