As Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth celebrates her Diamond Jubilee and London prepares to the host the Summer 2012 Olympics, the Brits have staged a mini media invasion. So, we thinks it’s perfectly appropriate to celebrate some of our favorite skincare products that originated in the United Kingdom. Fortunately, a trip across the pond is no longer needed to stock up on these tried and true British beauty buys.
Molton Brown
We’re huge fans of Molton Brown and Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod is one of our favorite scents. It’s perfect blend of ginger and patchouli for a spicy, decadent bathing experience. We’re loving the Olympic medal inspired limited edition package. Although the bottle is silver, this scent is a clear gold medal winner.
Eve Lom Kiss Mix
Better than the average lip balm, Eve Lom Kiss Mix not only softens rough, dry lips but contains zinc oxide to help protect them from damaging UV rays. Menthol is added to soothe and cool chapped lips.
REN Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish
A gentle, but effective sugar-based body exfoliant. Simply rub the body polish on dry skin before entering the bath (or shower) and rinse off while luxuriating in the tub. It’s a tad messy, but soo worth it. Afterwards your skin is silky smooth and you smell like the loveliest English rose.
Boots No. 7 Protect and Perfect Serum
When this product launched in the US at Target stores several years ago, it sold out immediately. I recall going to multiple stores trying to find it and buying several bottles once I finally did. There’s a reason it’s still the #1 anti-aging product in Great Britain – it works! The serum contains pro-retinol to help lessen the appearance of the wrinkles and fine lines.
LUSH
I love LUSH’s handmade soaps and bath bombs. However, I think their Stepping Stone foot scrub is probably my favorite and pure heaven for my often dry and rough feet. The pumice and sea salt make fast work of the scaly bits on my feet, while the lemon and lime oils leave them refreshed and soft.
