I recently went on a 3-day business trip to Florida. In an effort to be a good corporate citizen and save my company the checked bag fee, I packed only a carry-on and a tote bag that doubled as a laptop bag and purse. As any good beauty product junkie and shoe-obsessed woman knows, this required quite a bit of downsizing. Of course, this meant that I forgot a few essentials (so I could make room for the all important extra pair of shoes that I didn’t wear once during the trip).
Fortunately, there was a drugstore within walking distance of my hotel. I needed to pick up some shampoo, conditioner and a styling product. My only criteria for the products being that the bottles not be more than 3.4 oz (for fear of having them confiscated by the TSA on my return flight), not be too expensive since I was trying something new and unproven and the product be pretty much assured to work. Easy, right? I know this is likely not the way you’d envision a beauty blogger choosing a product, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Well, I hit the jackpot when I found Suave’s Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum. At only $4.49 for 2 oz., it is a bargain and small enough to thwart any power-tripping TSA agents.
After shampooing, conditioning and towel-drying my hair, I pumped 2-3 pumps of the serum into the palm of my hands and then it applied it to my hair focusing on the ends as well as any other known frizzy/dry areas of my hair. I then proceeded to dry and flat iron my hair as usual. The end result was amazingly smooth, healthy and shiny hair that completely belied the fact that it is about two months overdue for a trim. My hair was silky soft, not sticky or stiff as some serums can leave hair feeling.
The serum is part of Suave’s new Keratin Infusion line which is made with their proprietary technology that infuses hair with keratin protein making it smooth and easier to style. The serum can also be used on dry hair to smooth any flyaway hairs or improve the appearance of dry ends. Since I’m a scent snob too, I love the fact that the serum has the great tropical-like scent of an argan oil product, but is not overpowering.
Suave has come through again with another well-priced, terrific product. I’ve already added Suave Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum to my list of essential drugstore beauty buys.
