Day 2: BluePrint Renovation Cleanse

Last night was a bit rough, I don’t know whether it was the fact that I went to bed too early or due to the cleanse, but I was tossing and turning all night. I have this really awesome activity tracker, called the Fitbit that is like a pedometer on steroids. It not only measures how many steps you take, but the quality of your sleep among other things. Typically it takes me 7 minutes to fall asleep (last night was 17 minutes) and I was awakened during the night 26 times (about twice as much as usual). Also, for some reason, I was really cold.

All of the tossing and turning aside, I feel really refreshed this morning – could be that I did stay in bed for a couple of extra hours to make up for the nighttime restlessness. Of course, I had to step on the scale this morning to see if the lack of solid food had any immediate benefits. I saw that I had lost 2.2 lbs!! I know that it is 80% water weight, but I am still thrilled. It provided that extra bit of motivation that I needed to get through Day 2.

For breakfast, I had the Cashew Milk that I wasn’t able to drink last night. It wasn’t quite a vanilla shake but it was really good. The vanilla bean and cinnamon flavor were slightly reminiscent of my favorite gelato after it has melted. Plus, the heft that the ground cashews lend the cashew milk was a pleasant departure from the lightness of most of the other juices. I could almost pretend that I was chewing something.

At the end of Day 2, I am accustomed to the unique tastes of each of the juices. I find myself already thinking of how to incorporate regular juice cleanses into my schedule. I am amazed at how well and energetic I feel. I had anticipated three days essentially horizontal from a lack of energy, but I have, for the most part, continued with all of my regular activities. At this point, I feel like I could go without food for another three days!

Stay tuned for Day 3!
