Whether it’s being driven by a desire to save money or go green, seems like lately we’ve been hearing more and more about do-it-yourself beauty treatments from tea bags and cucumbers for banishing undereye puffiness to lock luminizing avocado and mayonnaise hair treatments.
Below are some of the more interesting ones we’ve heard of lately:
Rid under eyes of puffiness - Mix a packet of Splenda and filtered water. Apply gently to the area around the eye. Rinse off after three minutes.
Eliminate blackheads – Apply a thin layer of toothpaste (the white paste variety) to your nose (or other area with blackheads) before bedtime. Wash off in the morning.
Exfoliate dull skin – Mix raw, organic sugar with organic, extra-virgin, cold-pressed olive oil. Rub mixture onto your skin and let it stand for eight minutes. For deeper exfoliation, rub in small circles for a few minutes.
Moisturize sensitive skin – Blend 1 teaspoon each of extra-virgin olive oil, rose hip oil, and aloe vera juice. Add loose chamomile tea to the mixture. Apply to skin and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Naturally, the toothpaste trick is piquing our interest (#poreobsession). Do you have any tried and true DIY beauty secrets?
