A lovely stroll in the vineyard with Caudalie and Sephora

I was recently invited to attend a Sephora VIB event (code for – I spend WAY to much money at Sephora). I was thrilled to hear that the event would be held at the exclusive Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. I was vaguely familiar with Caudalie’s products, but was excited to learn more. As anyone who knows me knows I am a true Francophile and French beauty products top the list! Little did I know that in addition to attending this fab event, I would also discover my new go-to summer scent!

The event highlighted the launch of Caudalie’s new trio of fresh fragrances. The fragrances are intended to give you the feeling of a stroll through a vineyard at dawn, noon, and dusk.

Fleur de Vigne (dawn) – notes of white rose, watermelon, cedar and hints of grapefruit
Zeste de Vigne (noon) – vibrant citrusy notes of sweet lemon and orange blossoms
The des Vignes (dusk) – warming, sensual notes ginger, neroli, and white musk

I have to admit that I am typically not very adventuresome when it comes to fragrances. I tend to pick one scent and wear it all year (or for multiple years) until I either tire of it or it is no longer made. Also, I find that many fragrances are too heavy, spicy, or musky for me. I tend to like light citrusy and floral scents. Having said that I didn’t expect to truly love any of these new fragrances I was introducing to my olfactory system.

Surprise! I actually liked all three. Fleur de Vigne reminds me of my summer vacations in the South when I would awaken to dew-covered honeysuckles. Zeste de Vigne is very citrusy and energizing like a stroll in the warm sun on a lovely summer day. However, I fell in love with the The des Vignes fragrance. Although it is considered the most musky and concentrated of the trio, I still think it imparts a very light, fresh and romantic scent profile that can be worn any time of the day.

While at the event, we were also treated to mini spa treatments. I opted for the hand massage, which was fantastic. I was also super excited to have Bertrand Thomas (half of the husband and wife team that co-founded the brand), give me a personal demonstration of the recently launched Premier Cru The Eye Cream. The eye cream is part of their anti-ageing line. At first try, the cream is very hydrating and decadent feeling without being overly greasy or heavy. Looking forward to trialing it and seeing if it’s impressive clinical results ring true for me!
