For the past few months, I have been trying to wean myself from using any chemical treatments (e.g., perms, relaxers, etc.) on my hair. This is no easy feat since I have been using these types of treatments on my hair since I was 15 (don’t bother doing the math, just suffice it to say that it has been a very long time). To help keep my hair looking smooth and healthy, I have been on a hunt for any products that help prevent frizz, breakage, split ends and help repair hair.
So, when I saw the Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist (is that a mouthful or what?), I figured I would give it a try. In the past I have used Kerastase’s Nutritive Serum Oleo-Relax, a very good product, but it can be oily if you use even the slightest bit too much. Also, it is not as widely available and it is slightly more expensive.
I spray on some Alterna dry oil mist after blow drying and styling my hair to finalize the style, seal in moisture and eliminate any frizzy ends. The dry oil mist has a very fine spray creating a really great lightweight veil of moisture on your hair, without being greasy or too heavily scented. It also makes my hair shiny and seems to help make the overall texture of my hair look smoother too.
I recently put this product to the ultimate test. I was at my daughter’s Pre-K graduation sitting in a steamy, un-air conditioned school gym with 300 other people. The doors were opened to let in some air, however outside a misty rain was falling. Although, my lovely bouncy curls didn’t survive, my hair didn’t get frizzy either. Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist passed it’s final exam with flying colors!.
